Research Ethics Compliance & Informed Consent Policy

The Journal of Dry Eye and Ocular Surface Disease requires that all submitted articles summarizing research conducted with human subjects be accompanied by supporting documentation of ethics approval by a recognized research ethics board. 

Research teams and authors must fully abide by established standards for medical studies, including the adoption of protocols that protect the physical and psychological health of the subjects as well their privacy and the confidentiality of identifying information. Evidence of written informed consent must be provided for each study participant whose individual case profile is presented in submitted articles.
